MUZAFFARPUR: Begusarai MP and Union minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday accused Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi of creating a ‘civil war’ like situation in the country by misleading minorities on the issue of Citizenship (Amendment) Act and National Population Register (NPR).
Terming Congress, Left and other opposition parties as ‘Tukade-Tukade Gang ’, Giriraj said, “This brigade, under the leadership of Rahul, Priyanka and Owaisi were trying to disrupt the democratic set up of the country.

They are enticing the minority community, interpreting wrong meaning of CAA and NPR. In fact, the first one is a law to provide citizenship and not to take away anyone’s citizenship and the second one is for calculation of the population of the country with their detail database.”
He added, “We are only seeking information about bank accounts, gas connections and Aadhar enrolment. No one should have any problem in providing those details as it will help the government to formulate new policies for their betterment and development. But several political outfits are trying to create a civil war-like situation to appease a section of religious group. However, our government is committed to curb such elements at any cost.”
Giriraj said that the frustration of opposition parties after abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A) and Ram Temple verdict have made them indulge in spreading communal hatred. Singh, who is 67-year-old, also said that he will retire from active politics after population control laws are introduced by the Centre.
